It’s been awhile (and, a lot of hospitals too), but I just wanted to say hello again. All of you who stayed and waited for me, thank you. Part of me was afraid that many of you would leave, but you didn’t.
By way of update…I’ve had several surgeries and am still in a wheelchair part time. The number of disabilities I have at this point is astonishing, but I’m alive. Nowadays, I mostly just make jokes about wheels and try to sleep enough to survive university courses (which I have finally gone back to). Thanks be to God for disability accommodations.
I’m properly abashed at how far behind I am on the queue. Many apologies. I promise to work on it some when I go home for the holidays.
Speaking of which, I’ve gone back to university! We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m hopeful.
As for health updates: I’m on-and-off in a wheelchair, but able to go to class. I’ve been diagnosed with Fibro, MCS and Coeliac disease, but am still being tested for whatever else it is I have, because apparently if you get one thing you also get everything else. Lyme disease is currently a possibility, but there is also a long list of other possibilities which I won’t subject you to.
Once again, I’d like to thank all of you for your support and readership. I won’t out the person who sent me the following picture, but it meant a great deal to me, so without your permission I’m sharing it with everyone to let you know that I’m doing okay.
I’d like to extend a very hearty thank you to everybody who has contributed to help this blog stay afloat in the last several months. And that includes those who have written guest posts as well as all those who have contributed respectfully to the site discussion. It’s not infrequent that I receive very rude comments from strangers who aren’t regular followers, and it’s refreshing to see both the healthy discussion that all of you have created, in addition to all your kind concern about how I’m doing.
Speaking of which, it’s not likely that I will be getting better any time soon (potentially never at this point). I don’t have a solid diagnosis for what’s wrong with me (I’m being tested for things still), but basically I’m dealing with chronic, widespread pain and fatigue that has gradually gotten to the point of being debilitating.
That said, I will probably not be writing an overwhelming number of posts on this blog for a long while, so to a large extent, it will be dependent on guest writers to keep running…as well as my own ability to review and post those pieces.
Thanks for all your kindness and support, minions! It means a lot!
I know I promised to post that contest this week, but alas, I am under fire of Murphy’s law. I’m currently experiencing some unexpected medical problems that are as yet, undiagnosed and are preventing me from getting a large number of things done (blog included).
That said, the contest will probably need to be post-poned until next week, or possibly even the week after.
Also, I’ll get to all of your comments as soon as possible, but I can’t give you a timeline for that yet.
Hanswerner asked: I’m an INTJ, and I was wondering if you had any experience or advice on how to talk to girls. I’m terrified of talking to girls that have crushes on and every time I try to flirt I make a fool of myself
I’m willing to give advice on almost everything. However –and that’s a big however– I do not, and will probably never be qualified to give dating/flirting/sexual relationship advice to sexual people.
So let’s get one thing straight (pun intended). I’m asexual and romantically attracted to—you guessed it—not women. I wouldn’t stress this so highly except that I just read three similarly focused questions in my inbox.
In anticipation of all the open-minded folk who will have questions about this, I’m going to introduce a New Q&A Contest next week (similar to the last one) focused around this topic. Ask away in the comments below and I will feature your questions in the contest (and keep it respectful).
On that amusing note, I’d also like to extend a welcome to all the heterosexual male identifying INTJs lurking nearby. Please help @Hanswerner out by replying in the comments below.
Don’t think I’m ignoring them. I swear I will reply to them all after I finish finals.
Also. I just looked at my inbox…which is bursting with a million and six questions and character requests.
As a temporary measure intended to save the life of Arvid Walton, I will be shutting down the Ask an INTJ Anything and Request a Character sections on this blog. Fear not. I shall reinstate them once I get caught up on the many hundreds of questions and requests that beset me there.
In the meantime, I would highly appreciate anyone who wants to help with the character typing queue, and I’d like to further thank all those who have contributed up to this point.
In the next week or so, I intend to announce the winners of the last contest along with the answers to the questions posed about me.
Simultaneously, I will confront the horrors of my inbox. Or possibly I shall run away and write poetry.
