Amanda Palmer ENFP | The Book Addict's Guide to MBTI #ENFP

Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Amanda Palmer doesn’t like to exclude possibilities when she gives explanations and she tends to be accepting of most every type of art she comes across. She sees potential in most everyone and doesn’t believe in tearing other people down with hate or words. She places strong value on maintaining a positive attitude and enjoying the art she creates. She believes Continue reading

Manfred von Richthofen: ISTP

The Red Baron

The Red Baron ISTP | The Book Addict's Guide to MBTI #ISTP

Ti: It wasn’t uncommon for the Baron to ask the uncomfortable questions or assert odd opinions, but most of the time he didn’t really share his thought process with others. He was a man of few words and didn’t particularly enjoy social parties. Continue reading

Misty – Pokémon: ENFJ

Guest post by Andrew, ENTJ

Pokémon Anime Franchise

Misty ENFJ | Pokemon #MBTI #ENFJ

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Misty is a bundle of emotion who has no trouble expressing happiness, sadness, surprise, anger, or whatever else she is feeling.  She is also very accommodating to the emotions and wishes of others; even though she bears psychological scars from the constant teasing of her sisters, she helps them out in whatever way she can.  She steps in to star in a last-minute show that they wrote and produced, and when she leaves Continue reading

Mr. Darcy: INTJ

Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen

ESFJ: Why don’t you want to come?

ME: I am the Mr. Darcy of your friend group.

Ni: Mr. Darcy hates crowded places, conventional parties, and pretty much anything that requires him to converse amiably with other human beings. Yet, he has a profound understanding of other people and can size up their character very quickly. He’s rather prideful, but is able to come to terms with his judgements being occasionally inaccurate. His focus is narrow and he prioritizes to prevent the potential tragic consequences that he foresees occurring as a result of current events. Darcy is usually ten steps ahead of the game with regards to knowing what will happen next.  He is always planning for the future and tends to get caught up in his visions as opposed to enjoying the present moment. Continue reading

Dom Cobb: ISFP

Guest Post by Debaparna Das, INTP

Inception

Dom Cobb ISFP | Inception #MBTI #ISFP

Dominant Introverted Feeling (Fi): Cobb represses much of his feeling function so that he can focus more on his professional life using his sensing and thinking functions. He struggles constantly with his feelings of regret, guilt, and grief for Mal, and feels uncomfortable talking about it to others, brushing off Arthur and opening up to Ariadne only when she correctly intuits a good part of his motivations on her own. He resorts to Continue reading

Does Personality Type change over time?

maryamassegaf asked: Is it possible our type change over the time? I have test and read about mbti in many website, and the result is always INTJ right now, but I think my type in childhood was ISTJ (the description is fit better to me in the childhood). When I was teen, there was clashes inside my mind so I began to questioning inside my mind about values, rules, morality and principles in society. So I think those clashes shaped me to use more Ni functions. Btw, I have test my cognitive functions in website, and ther result my Ni, Te, Fi, Ti, and Si function is more deveoped than others (in order with small point difference)

Have you ever met somebody who got in a car accident, ended up with a horrible head injury and was never quite the same person after that? It happened to my dad (literally changed personalities).

How about…have you ever met somebody who underwent traumatising childhood abuse and ended up with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)? Multiple personalities all meshed into one person?

The point I’m trying to make is this. Yes, personality can change drastically as a result of trauma. It happens subconsciously, in a part of our minds that we have little control over. However, I don’t believe it’s possible to consciously change your personality. Continue reading

Maude – Harold and Maude: ESFP

Harold and Maude

Maude ESFP | Harold and Maude #MBTI #ESFP

Se: Maude enjoys a thrill. She loves to drive crazy, smell things, feel things and do pretty much anything that thrills her senses. She loves to dance and lives to have fun. She’s agile for an old woman and doesn’t have any problem jumping around, stealing cars, shovels and trees right under people’s noses. Her main goal in life is to explore new experience and love every minute of it. Continue reading

Jessie – Pokémon: ENTJ

Guest Post by Andrew, ENTJ

Pokémon Anime Franchise

Jessie ENTJ | Pokemon #MBTI #ENTJ

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Jessie is a domineering woman who controls her teammates, James and Meowth, with an iron fist.  She is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to snare a valuable Pokemon or several for her boss, and ruthless in her drive to carry them out.  More than James or Meowth, Jessie can separate her emotions from the job she wants (or has) to do; several times, she finds herself in a position where she has to rely Continue reading

Joel – The Last of Us: ISTP

Guest Post by Matt, INTJ

The Last of Us

Joel ISTP | The Last of Us #MBTI #ISTP

Dominant Ti: Joel understands mechanical and logically subjective systems particularly well; his ability to consistently problem-solve in a world without typical constraints like order and social standing ultimately insure his continued survival. He maintains a survivor’s mindset both before and after Sarah’s death, unlike everyone else around him. Ironically enough, his default, unique worldview adapts quickly to the world after the outbreak since it doesn’t really need to do any adapting at all. Joel always finds a way to survive, finding ways to overcome difficulties of both the financial and fungal kind. Another tip-off: Joel rarely ever voices his thought process and doesn’t order his companions around much. He never comes across as domineering or controlling, unlike most extraverted thinkers. Continue reading

Dr. Simon Tam: ISTJ

Firefly/Serenity

Simon Tam ISTJ | Firefly #MBTI #ISTJ

Dominant Introverted Sensing (Si): When Simon comes up with a plan, it is meticulous down to the tiniest detail. He likes to gather up the facts of a situation to allow him to more accurately assess what decisions he needs to make. More than anything, Simon trusts to experience. He relies on past memories to give him all the information he needs to come up with the Ariel job Continue reading

Harold Chasen – Harold and Maude: INTJ

Harold and Maude

Harold Chasen INTJ | Harold and Maude #MBTI #INTJ

Ni: No matter who it is that’s trying, nobody can convince Harold to take the course of conventional lifestyle, and if they try to force it on him, he acts to prevent it. Harold likes to play games with people, testing their gullibility and sense of humour with his suicides. He is obsessive about the world of death, suicide and funerals and spends his free time exploring that world. Continue reading
