Dominant Si: The past is very important to Anne. Her close friendship with Lady Russell partially stems from Lady Russell’s connection to Anne’s mother, and Anne often goes to Lady Russell for advice. Anne also continues to love Wentworth nearly a decade after she broke off their engagement. Introverted Feeling (Fi): Hagrid takes a liking to everyone he meets, unless they give him some reason to be unlikeable. He is immediately accepting of Ron and Hermione when Harry brings them over for tea, but he can’t stand Draco Malfoy, who is notorious as a bully and a bigot. His compassion even extends to dangerous monsters (his pets have included dragons, giant man-eating spiders, and vicious three-headed dogs), and he often labors under the delusion that even the most bloodthirsty creatures in existence are, in fact, harmless. Hagrid has an unshakable loyalty to Albus Dumbledore, and will physically attack anyone who dares to insult him, but that doesn’t stop him from criticizing Dumbledore to his face when he believes the Hogwarts headmaster is making a mistake. Hagrid is very emotional, but he doesn’t like to show his feelings to anyone else; when he is found to be a descendant of giants, he retreats to his cabin for several weeks, brooding on his shame and embarrassment alone. Hagrid takes it personally when Harry, Ron, and Hermione discontinue taking Care of Magical Creatures in their sixth year, and the three of them have to convince him that they are not actually snubbing him. Dominant Te: Ragnar Lothbrok is a serious and focused leader who is quick to retort and act to gain the upper hand when things do not go his way. He is a pioneer in his own right, and fully organised a raid to England (using improved technologies) even before getting approval from Earl Haraldson, whose denial of his wish to raid the west promptly caused Ragnar to question his authority. His peers quickly rally under his command, and whoever questions his plans, such as his brother Rollo, gets a firm retort that closes the door to discussion. Even during celebrations, Ragnar never relaxes, instead observing the people he does not trust, and planning his next move to deal with those who may be a threat to his Ni vision. Continue reading

Dominant Te: Earl Haraldson’s motivation is the establishment and respect of his authority. He is chiefly concerned about his power and social status in Kattegat, and will take action swiftly to keep the order and ascertain his dominance. Extroverted Sensing (Se): Anakin shows a knack for piloting from a very young age. Whether he’s at the controls of a podracer, a starfighter, an airspeeder, or a heavily damaged enemy battle cruiser, Anakin can dodge obstacles and dart through firefights, and fire the kill shot to boot. He has an excellent aim whenever flying an armed vessel; he saves Obi-Wan’s life by blasting diminutive circuit-wrecking droids off his fighter in the middle of an attack run. Anakin tends to charge into fights without thinking, and once even abandons an assigned post to rescue his captured mother. He also has a strong taste for aesthetics, almost letting Obi-Wan die fighting a bounty hunter while he chooses just the right speeder to give chase. Anakin notices small things about his environment which tend to make a great deal of difference; he notices a speeder of which he’d lost the trail re-emerge many feet below him, as well as Qui-Gon’s lightsaber when the Jedi Master is in disguise. Anakin reacts quickly and effectively to sudden changes; when his podracer catches fire in the middle of a race, he stays cool, salvaging both the vehicle and the victory. Continue reading

Also. I just looked at my inbox…which is bursting with a million and six questions and character requests.
As a temporary measure intended to save the life of Arvid Walton, I will be shutting down the Ask an INTJ Anything and Request a Character sections on this blog. Fear not. I shall reinstate them once I get caught up on the many hundreds of questions and requests that beset me there.
In the meantime, I would highly appreciate anyone who wants to help with the character typing queue, and I’d like to further thank all those who have contributed up to this point.
In the next week or so, I intend to announce the winners of the last contest along with the answers to the questions posed about me.
Simultaneously, I will confront the horrors of my inbox. Or possibly I shall run away and write poetry.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Gary is results-oriented to the core. In the time it takes Ash to catch around forty Pokemon, Gary catches over 200. He wins ten badges for the Indigo Pokemon League, even though only eight are required for entry. Rather than giving all his Pokemon equal training time, he concentrates on the ones that have given him the best results. Gary does not travel alone early on; instead he travels in a car, delegating the responsibility of transportation (and maybe other responsibilities as well) to others. Gary always manages to be one step ahead of his peers while journeying; Ash, while traveling through Kanto and Johto, sees or hears how far ahead of him Gary would be whenever he thinks he’s doing well. He always has the relevant information ready for every task he attempts. As a young boy, Gary is responsible enough to be entrusted with tasks beyond the capacity of most adults, such as holding guard at Lake Valor to protect the legendary Pokemon Azelf. Continue reading

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Darry is a consummate leader. Having stepped in as the legal guardian to his two younger brothers, he easily lays down and enforces ground rules. Although the greasers have no “leader,” official or not, it is Darry who takes up the mantle most often, as he remains cool and logical even when fists are flying all around him. He desperately wants Ponyboy to succeed in life, and puts a great deal of pressure on him to stay out of trouble and keep his grades up. Having eschewed the more mainstream road to gain status (a college education), he instead engages in fighting, an activity at which he excels, and which guarantees him social standing among the greasers.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): Darry has a singular focus: he wants Ponyboy to go to college and escape poverty. All of the rules he sets for Ponyboy are there to prevent him from either getting poor grades or being put in a home for orphaned boys: the two things that could most easily derail his plan. Darry carefully makes life decisions based on the long-term consequences of his actions; alone of the greasers, he abstains from smoking cigarettes so as to avoid any adverse health effects down the road. Ti: Shikamaru was a logical thinker who’s most popular characteristic was his ability to stay cool headed in crisis situations and conceive a winning strategy. Shikamaru’s fighting style indicated a dominant Ti, in which he first engaged an opponent, then tried to bring them at an impasse, to analyst their moves and devise a plan of action. He was also often shown to have an affinity to intellectual puzzles and strategic games, like shogi. He disliked physical work and would rather lie down and think. Continue reading

Extroverted Sensing (Se): Ron likes to have fun, and lives for the thrills of the moment. He often neglects to study for important exams, as he cannot handle the tedium of prolonged studying. He has the most prominent sense of humor in his inner circle of friends, and is much more likely to crack a joke than Harry or Hermione is. Ron likes physical activity, and has a natural ability for Quidditch. Ron usually doesn’t think before acting, and at times, this has landed him in trouble (blasting himself with his own malfunctioning wand, flying his parents’ car to Hogwarts), but it also allows him to escape from sticky situations (talking his way out of an encounter with a group of “snatchers”). Ron becomes impatient when Harry admits that he has no plan to find all of Vordemort’s horcruxes, and he makes an impulsive decision to bail out of hunt for them. Continue reading

Dominant Se: Ana loves to be active. As a small child, her way of bonding with her sister was shared activity time. When Elsa is no longer allowed to engage in physical play with Ana, their relationship suffers. Ana misses her sister on an emotional level, but she expresses her feelings by complaining about how bored she is and wishing that they could do something together (“Do you wanna build a snowman?/ Or ride our bikes around the halls…”). Ana looks forward to her sister’s coronation because of the party involved. Excitement makes her move physically–she runs and dances around throughout the movie. Ana’s Se gives her boldness in some situations that would terrify others: she has enough confidence in her physical abilities that she is willing to climb into the mountains alone. Throughout the movie, Ana helps to connect her sister to the real, physical world–running interference for Elsa early on as Elsa grieves, and, eventually, encouraging Elsa to use her gift to delight their people. Introverted Sensing (Si): Tolkien’s mother died when he was eight years old, and his memory of her motivated him throughout his adult life. Since her family had abandoned her after her conversion to Catholicism, and her health had subsequently deteriorated, Tolkien considered her a martyr. Dominant Ni: C. S. Lewis had a relatively narrow set of interests, primarily focusing on academic topics and especially medieval and Renaissance literature. A high school tutor told Lewis’s father that Lewis could become a scholar, but little else. Symbolism was important to Lewis: his favorite genres of literature (epic poetry, fantasy, and science fiction) were filled with it. He infused a great deal of very blunt symbolism (NiTe) into his own fictional works, especially the Chronicles of Narnia. Many of his other works are philosophical in nature, and C.S. Lewis was fond of discussing ideas with the Mastermind group that he engineered as a college student (the organisation part of this would be Te). Continue reading

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Tracey lives life his own way. When he meets Ash and Misty, he is following his passion of watching and drawing wild Pokemon. He is very emotional and caring toward those he cares about, but is often oblivious of others’ emotions; he once made an indiscreet comment suggesting that Ash and Misty were in love, provoking an angry response from both of them. He cares very much about Professor Oak’s opinion of his work, owing to the respect he has for the veteran researcher; he cannot contain his nerves when the famed Pokemon Professor reviews his drawings for the first time. Introverted Sensing (Si): Introverted Sensing deals primarily with recalling facts and details of past events. Sheldon has an eidetic memory. Introverted Sensing is very tradition and ritual oriented. Sheldon holds on to these traditions very closely. In the series often Leonard and Howard often convince him to do many things just by saying its a ‘social custom’. He tends to know all the facts and enjoys system and order.He says that he does not like change and thinks that change never good,this is mostly where I believe that he is not an NT and more of an SJ.
