Matt Murdock (Daredevil): ISFP

Dominant Introverted Feeling (Fi): Matt has solid morals based on what he thinks is right rather than laws. He doesn’t want to defend people if he doesn’t think they are innocent, and after he defended someone he didn’t want to, he beat up the guy in the alley after the court hearing was over. He is a devout Catholic but questions “why God put the devil inside him.” He wants to do good rather than work at Lehman and Zack. Despite believing that “sometimes the law isn’t enough” while going after Fisk, Matt never kills people and has Fisk arrested instead. He is emotional, but is usually private about his emotions and can hide them well. He also hides his identity by not saying anything rather than lying.

Auxiliary Extroverted Sensing (Se): Matt is extremely coordinated, observant, and has good reflexes. This also makes him good at sneaking up on people. He notices a lot of details involved with cases. During the court case, he was so absorbed in listening to the jury members’ heartbeats that he had to be reminded to make his final argument. Due to his enhanced senses, he is easily bothered by loud noises. He also sometimes displays anger physically, such as when he throws a chair at a wall when Claire is kidnapped.

Tertiary Introverted Intuition (Ni): Matt usually figures things out more quickly than other people he is with. He can tell when people are lying, thinks Fisk killed Mrs. Cardenas almost immediately, and knows Karen is innocent. He also wants to change the city and says he won’t stop getting hurt until he stops people like Fisk. He also tells Karen that they can’t change the past and must move forward instead.

Inferior Extroverted Thinking (Te): Matt is very direct and businesslike when he questions people in court. He always wants to know the truth, and during his speech to the jury in the courtroom, he says that “facts have no moral judgment; they merely state what is, not what we think of them, not what we feel. They just are.” He is more of a leader than Foggy or Karen and sometimes takes cases or makes decisions for the group without consulting with them first.
