Request a Character

Do you have a character you’d like me to type for you? Simply add your character using the request form below.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT:

  1. Check the Character Directory (updated frequently), and do not submit duplicate requests. Rather than making me more inclined to type a character sooner, this has the opposite effect––it just adds cud to the queue, giving me more to trudge through before I can get to your request.
  2. Note the following: Your character won’t automatically show up in the Character Directory right after you submit. I have to manually add them––meaning they’ll appear when I get to them. If they’re not there yet, it doesn’t mean that your request didn’t go through, just that I have yet to read and added it to the directory (even if the directory was last updated very recently).

Trolls (and serial ignorers of the above policies) will be blocked and banished to North Sentinel Island.

  1. I would love to have some feedback on American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman. I understand the policy of not having typed R-Rated characters bordering on NC-17, yet I could use the insight from someone else also qualified to type others. My bias in identifying Patrick as an ENTP psychopath needs to be examined. Cheers.

  4. Hey I have an interesting question I’ve been debilitating for a long time. I’ve decided to ask you because from what I’ve read you seem a reliable and trustworthy source. Can a person be two mbti types at the same time? The reason I ask is because I’ve seen a lot of people saying they’re an INTP/INTJ. From what I know these two types normally share quite a lot of similarities with each other, but I also know they have vastly different functions and think very differently, so what could be the reason for a person identifying as both? I have an INFP friend ( or INFJ we’re still trying to determine that), she took the MBTI test and got INFP, read multiple descriptions and decided it was her type. Well a couple months later I had her take a cognitive functions test out of curiosity and she got INFJ. The test results revealed the percentages of her functions and which ones she used the most. Turns out the function she used the most was Introverted Intuition. I’m not going to expand on the functions that came after but to sum up she used both INFJ and INFP functions the most ( the highest being Fi, Fe, Ne, Ni, Ti). I’m very interested in hearing your thoughts about this, Arvid.

  6. I’d love it if somebody could type some of the major villains from World of Warcraft. Kil’jaeden especially, because he’s a shifty lil’ fellow and I need to settle an argument between my guildmates. (Somebody once tried to convince me he’s INFP… poor darling.)

  9. How about (the important) characters from the Tron franchise? I’ve been burning to know what type Tron/Rinzler, Quorra, CLU and Flynn’d be.

But the whole franchise is filled with interesting characters. You should really check them out.

  10. You could type Hannibal and Will Graham from series? There are many debates about INTJxINFJ and INFPxINFJ.

  11. Have you seen the TV show Grimm? It’s really good. I think you’d like it. It’s based on Grimm fairy tales with people called Wesen who sort of shape shift into fairy tale esque creatures, like a Blutbad who turns into a wolf creature or a Hexenbiest who turns into a witch creature and uses telekinesis. The main character Nick Burkhardt is a Grimm, or someone who can somehow see these people when they aren’t woged, or haven’t changed. I think it’d be cool if you typed him. I tried to but I can’t figure him out.

  12. Hi, I hope and wish you are doing better. I need some help, tips and guidance, from you about my research study. I want to find out personality types of characters in a novel and then describe how these characters are different or similar to each other in the light of MBTI personality types.

    • I’m not going to lie and say that I’m doing better, but thank you for the wishing. My advice to you is to read what I’ve already written on this blog.

  13. Isn’t this the place to request a character that is not already on the directory? I asked if I could type Samwell Tarly from A Song of Ice and Fire and you told me to request here. I’m not sure if I’m just being stupid but since he’s already on the list and I’m asking to do a guest post I’m not sure if this is the right place.

    • Requesting a character for ME to type happens here. If YOU want to type a character, that happens on the “Character Directory” page. However, just this once, I will accept here. Samwell Tarly is now claimed for you on the directory page.

  14. Hi
I have a small question. Not sure if you’ve answered it before but I can’t find it, if so could you please point me to the post with the answer? ^_^

If you do a character from a book that has been made into a movie, is your analysis based on the book or the movie, or both? I have noticed that a lot of movies change the character somewhat so it’s dramatic on the big screen.

  15. I may have made a mistake by typing out a request for characters on the request policy page instead of this one. Just wanted to make sure it hadn’t gone unnoticed. Thank you.
